Qualifications: Speaker of English and Haitian Creole Maintains student and family confidentiality Effective Collaborator Demonstrates computer skills (email, Google Docs) Evidence of strong interpersonal skills Ability to communicate effectively with district staff and parents via email, phone and in person.

 

Job Description and Qualifications: This employee helps to build strong partnerships between families and schools. They work to create a welcoming environment for families and caregivers of newly enrolled multilingual students.

 

Family liaisons help with: Connecting Newcomer families/caregivers to resources

 

Parent outreach: Reaching out to parents and caregivers of newcomer students

 

School-wide events: attending after-school events

 

Parent-school communication: Facilitating communication between parents and the school

 

School policies: Helping families/caregivers of newcomer students find information about school policies, programs, and activities Family Liaisons are compensated for 10 hours of outreach per month.

 

Funding source: Title III Grant Rate $21/hour
