Performance Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Job:   

Ensure operation of all computers, tablets, and multimedia equipment: troubleshoot malfunctions, perform in-house repairs, and contact vendors for warranty replacements. 

Respond to help desk support requests from assigned schools, prioritizing work. 

Provide end-user support in person, by remote connection, by e-mail and telephone. 

Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work. 

Install new and repaired equipment. 

Perform hardware and software upgrades to devices as needed 

Maintain public address systems in auditoriums and cafeterias. 

Set-up and operate portable public address systems for district and school wide events (e.g. convocation, PDRT) 

Document new inventory as well as repair/upgrade maintenance. 

Research online resources, technical manuals/guides to respond to questions and solve problems for computers and devices. 

Follow established district standards and procedures pertaining to hardware and software. 

Flexible and available to work off hours  

Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Additional Stipend Opportunities of the Job:  

Facilitate telephone connectivity for building-based, large scale webinars – beyond the school day. 

Set-up and operate portable public address systems for high school graduation ceremony, high school senior dinner and large-scale professional development days, etc. 

Set-up and/or operate portable public address systems for building rentals.

Education and Other Requirements:  

Two-year degree preferred or technical school 

CORI compliant. 

 

Certification/Licensure

Microsoft Certification: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), preferred. 

Apple's OS X Certifications for IT professionals, preferred. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to lift and move network equipment, servers, computers, peripherals and furniture. 

May be required to climb ladder, squat, kneel or maneuver in small spaces. 

 

Experience

3-5 years’ relevant experience, preferred. 

Managing/troubleshooting both Windows and Apple hardware (Mac OSX and iOS), preferred.
