Summer 2024 School STEP Up Paraprofessional

Overview

Instructional Paraprofessionals are needed to assist teachers in working with learners in the STEP Up Program at the Kennedy Middle School. Paras must demonstrate the ability to work with students under the direction of the teacher, follow directions effectively and be familiar with instructional, and safety procedures. They will support and reinforce the teacher’s expectations for students.

Focus of the Program

This program will be open to students attending both Kennedy and McDevitt Middle School who can benefit from additional academic support (rising 6, 7, 8) in August 2024. Students will be engaged in literacy and math instruction through thematic units grounded in core summer reading text with additional enrichment activities.

Terms of Employment

The program will be held Monday July 1, - Friday July 26, 2024 (excluding July 4 & 5) at either Kennedy or McDevitt Middle School. Program times for students are 9:00 am - 1:00 pm for a total of (18 days).

Salary: WEA Contractual rate for hours worked up to 90 hours.
